Hi, I’m Bethany

I’m here to support you

It’s an honor to sit in the space with someone who is looking for support during a difficult time. I know it can be scary to meet someone for the first time and be vulnerable when sharing your life story. The therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in someone’s experience with therapy. Having a connection with your provider and feeling a sense of trust is very important, that is a value of mine that guides my therapeutic work with clients. The beginning of our work together is focused on getting to know each other, and for you to feel heard and understood. Every client is different, I do have experience and training but that does not mean I come into the session with rigid authority in what is going to “fix you”. I approach therapy as working with you to discover together what your goals are, what you’ve found works and doesn’t, and what you’d like to experience from our time together. This helps guide my direction, and I’m always open to feedback as it helps me understand even better how unique you are. Come as you are to our sessions, this isn’t a job interview.

You deserve support in person or telehealth.

Quality, personalized work.
Together.

About my background

The path to my clinical work has taken many turns that I did not expect, yet I feel that I am right where I need to be now. As a graduate student I planned to be a school counselor, however things changed when I experienced my father passing away and shortly after becoming a new mom who struggled with postpartum depression and anxiety. I’m passionate about helping support those who are experiencing major life changes such as pregnancy/postpartum and grief/loss.

My unique combination of life experience, professional experience, professional training, and community involvement provides me with a well-rounded understanding of the unique challenges these clients are facing and the support they need.

About Bethany

In my free time, I love being outside in the warm sunshine by the water. The beach is my ultimate happy place. My husband and I, along with our two children (ages 12 and 4) enjoy spending time outside and being active. As you can see from the pictures of my office, I also love plants and flowers. Nature is a great way for me to practice mindfulness, the beauty of new flowers growing or a colorful sunrise over the beach keeps me present in this busy world.

About my practice

Taking this leap to go out on my own has allowed me so much freedom to create the space and relationships that I want to cultivate in my practice.

I’m really looking forward to focusing on my specialities with continuing education and related community engagement. Take a look at my Community Connections tab to see the work I’m doing outside of therapy sessions.

Here at Twilight Counseling,  you’ll find quality, personalized work we’ll be doing together. This isn’t a sterile, scripted, boxed-in treatment approach. I’ll meet you where you are and listen to what will work for you.

Treatment Modalities

I utilize talk therapy with a variety of techniques. Sometimes it is also very valuable to add a body based approach when talk therapy is not enough. I am also a trained Level 1 Brainspotting therapist, you can ask me more about Brainspotting if you’d like by scheduling a consult call here.

“Your life experience is unique, like the blend of colors that paints the sky each day. There is support for you during this time; don’t go it alone.”
